The 52nd basic session visits the Russian Museum in Jericho

The 52nd basic session visited the Russian Museum in Jericho, where they were received by the museum director, Mr. Roman Dekansky, accompanied by the tour guide and translator, Mr. Hassan Abu Samra.
Participants learned about the history of the Russian presence in Palestine during the Ottoman period (1860–1917), in addition to learning about the most prominent civilizations that succeeded one another in the land of Palestine, including the Roman, Byzantine, and early Islamic periods, with a tour of the Byzantine archaeological site, which is more than 1,500 years old.
The visit also included a stop at the historic sycamore tree in the museum garden, and concluded with an introductory meeting with the museum administration, emphasizing the importance of these visits in enhancing historical and cultural awareness.
