As part of its training programs aimed at developing mental abilities and enhancing analytical skills, GMTC organized a lecture titled “Critical Thinking,” presented by Dr. Amani Rayyan from Al-Quds Open University/Jericho, to participants of the 20th Intermediate Joint Operations Course.
The lecture addressed the concept of critical thinking as a mental process based on the systematic analysis of information, evaluation of evidence, and examination of assumptions, contributing to reaching accurate conclusions and logical solutions. The importance of questioning and avoiding bias was also emphasized, and their role in distinguishing between facts and claims.
Dr. Rayyan pointed out that possessing critical thinking skills enhances individuals' ability to deal with challenges and make informed decisions, especially in the nature of security work, which requires accuracy and speed in assessment.
The lecture concluded with an interactive discussion among the participants, during which opinions were exchanged and questions were raised, which enhanced understanding and enriched experiences.
