As part of its efforts to prepare security cadres capable of dealing efficiently with various field situations, the 31-year basic leadership course implemented a specialized training program on the role of the first responder at a crime scene. The course included a scientific lecture and practical applications aimed at developing participants' skills in preserving evidence and dealing with crime scenes in accordance with legal and professional principles.
During the lecture, Colonel Moatasem Shehadeh discussed the basics that govern the work of the first responder from the moment of arrival at the scene of the event, reviewing the mechanisms for securing the crime scene, protecting evidence from contamination or tampering, and initial documentation procedures, in addition to the importance of adhering to legal controls that ensure the integrity of the procedures and contribute to supporting the course of the investigation.
The participants then moved to the practical side through a training visit to the Palestine College of Police Sciences, where Lieutenant/ Colonel Hamza Zaboun gave an applied presentation that simulated realistic scenarios for dealing with crime scenes, allowing the participants to practice field procedures and test their skills in rapid response, decision-making, and professional handling of forensic evidence.
The program concluded with the Palestine College of Police Sciences being honored in the presence of the College's Deputy Director, Brigadier General Abdul Sami Nairat, in appreciation of its role in the success of the applied aspect, and as an embodiment of the ongoing cooperation between the two institutions in developing the training system and preparing security cadres who possess competence and field experience.
