A joint cooperation agreement was signed between GMTC and the Independent Commission for Human Rights, in the presence of Staff Major General/ Mahmoud Haroun, Chairman of GMTC and Dr. Ammar Dweik, Chairman of the Independent Commission for Human Rights.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation in the field of spreading a culture of human rights and to develop relevant training and awareness programs within the security work system, in line with national laws and international human rights standards.
Staff Major General /Haroun stressed the importance of this step in rooting human rights concepts within the framework of military and professional discipline, praising the role played by the independent body in this field.
For his part, Dr. Ammar Dweik stressed the importance of partnering with GMTC in preparing and qualifying cadres in a way that enhances respect for rights and freedoms, serves the interests of society and enshrines the rule of law.
This agreement comes as part of the two institutions' efforts to deepen institutional cooperation and promote national and human rights values.
