GMTC received His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the State of Palestine, Mr. Sean Beneveldt, where he was received by the Chairman of GMTC Staff Major General/ Mahmoud Haroun, where His Excellency welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador, stressing the depth of relations between the two countries.
During the visit, His Excellency gave a lecture entitled «South Africa's Position on the Palestinian Issue», targeting members of the 23rd Senior Officers Course, in which he addressed South Africa's historical and consistent position in supporting the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, reviewing his country's experience in confronting the apartheid regime, and the similarities with the suffering of the Palestinian people, in addition to the diplomatic and legal efforts made by South Africa in international forums to support the Palestinian cause.
The ambassador stressed the importance of enhancing political awareness among security leaders, and their role in understanding the regional and international dimensions of the Palestinian issue, praising the level of discussion and interaction shown by the session members
